The Capital Gazette - Twelve local civil rights leaders to be honored at Martin Luther King Jr. Awards

The 12 recipients span from leaders in law and government to education and nonprofit work. They have dedicated time in their careers to working towards equity and fostering inclusive environments in their respective fields.

Moore, Maryland Del. Bonnie Cullison and former Annapolis Alderman Jared Littmann will be honored for their work in the political sphere. During his five years on the Annapolis City Council between 2013 and 2017, Littmann, who represented Ward 5, worked on legislation to protect the environment, limit school overcrowding and bolster resources for minority communities.
