I am thrilled to announce that early results released from the city indicate we have won the Annapolis mayoral election with 73% of the vote!
The city issued a press release after receiving the count of mail-in ballots returned via drop box and USPS. I received 4,291 in-person votes and 2,021 mail-in votes for a total of 6,312. My opponent Bob O'Shea received 1,798 in-person votes and 507 mail-in votes for a total of 2,305. One final round of counting will take place on Wednesday, November 12 at which point all results will be certified.
I also want to acknowledge the City Council candidates who won their races:
Ward 1: Harry Huntley
Ward 2: Karma O'Neill
Ward 3: Keanuú Smith-Brown
Ward 4: Janice Allsup-Johnson
Ward 5: Brooks Schandelmeier
Ward 6: Diesha Contee
Ward 7: Rob Savidge
Ward 8: Frank Thorp
These results belong to all of you. Thank you to every voter who showed up and to our amazing volunteers who powered this campaign. Your energy and commitment are the reason we’re here today.
I also want to thank Bob O’Shea for running a campaign rooted in passion and integrity. He reached out to concede Tuesday evening, and our conversation was both gracious and genuine. I am confident we each share a deep commitment to this city. And I’d be remiss if I did not also acknowledge and thank my competitor in the Primary, Alderwoman Rhonda Pindell Charles, who has done so much for Annapolis for many years.
I am deeply humbled and grateful to the residents who placed their trust in me with their vote and look forward to serving as your next Mayor. Â Best, Jared
