Fish Stark: For Better, More Affordable Housing, Vote Littmann

Fish Stark has tirelessly championed human rights issues his whole career. His valiant work and his outstanding character make me honored to have his endorsement. Below is a snippet of his opinion letter he wrote to the editor of the Capital Gazette about why he is confident I’m the right person to lead Annapolis forward.

"When the Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis, or HACA, and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) organized a forum for mayoral candidates to discuss housing issues, I was interested to hear what solutions the candidates had to offer.

One candidate attended – former Alderman and K&B Ace Hardware owner Jared Littmann – and I came away impressed with his depth of knowledge about the issue and practical approach to deliver affordable, better quality housing in Annapolis.

One of the exciting things about Littmann’s candidacy is that he doesn’t try to boil down complex issues into simple ten-word answers. 

When he was asked about how the city could build more housing to help drive down homebuying costs, he gave a specific example: the former seafood market across from Robinwood has been vacant for several years, and neighbors have been asking for a grocery store there. A 3-4 story building with a local market on the ground floor and 5-8 units of housing above it could be a perfect fit for the neighborhood."
